The fifth annual “Big Kahuna Classic”(Dick Morris Memorial Girls Wrestling Tournament) the Best in the West is BACK on Friday, January 16 and Saturday, 17, 2026 at Cerritos College. Currently there are 79 teams entered form throughout the state of CA, Oregon, Nevada and Arizona.

If your school is entering a boys’ team at the 5 Counties Tournament, bringing the girls Team to the “Big Kahuna Classic”. Cerritos College and Fountain Valley HS are only 17.4 miles apart. Take advantage of the long weekend for a team bonding experience, with Disneyland only 12.8 miles away.

Dates: Friday, January 16, and Saturday 17, 2026.

Location: Cerritos College – 11110 Alondra Blvd Gymnasium, Norwalk, CA

Weigh-Ins: Weigh-In & Groom Check starts at 8:00am on Friday and 7:00am on Saturday. Weigh- in order is determined by team’s arrival. There will be a 95lb weight class.

Growth

Allowance: In addition to the January 2026 weight allowance of 1lb, wrestlers will receive an additional 1lb on Friday and an addition 1lb on Saturday for a total of 3lbs.

Wrestling: Wrestling will begin at 10:00am on Friday and 9:00am on Saturday. Finals & Medal Matches will start at approximately 3:30pm

Format: Double elimination 42-woman bracket.

Entry Fee: $495 per team (14 wt. classes) by November 1, 2025, late fee after November 1, 2025, $525. Teams with less than 8 wrestlers on the team pay $50 per entry. If a team enters more than 14 wrestlers, including the 95lb weight class, add an additional $50 per wrestler. Coaches will receive 2 wristbands.

Seeding Info: All registration and seeding will be via Track Wrestling. Registration must be submitted to Track on or before Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Awards: Awards will follow after each weight class’s final match. Individual awards 1st-8th place. Custom awards to the Champions, trophies to the top 5 teams (95lb does not count toward team points) and outstanding wrestler awards to lower and upper weight classes.
